I rescued my handsome Reggie when he was 2 yrs old, and he rescued me every day for the next 13 1/2 yrs. He was my loyal companion and protector, always by my side or under my feet. He filled my life with love and joy and my house, clothes and car with doggie hair. How he managed to shed his white hairs on my black things and black hairs on my white ones is a mystery. He loved his belly rubs, sunbaths, walks, doggie park and his numerous squeaky hedge hog toys. Reggie disliked golf cars, bicycles, and men with tools. He had an eye for the females of his species, no matter the size.
An Arizona dog, he never saw snow till we moved to Colorado 8 months ago. He did not know what to do with it. We were in a reality TV show filmed in AZ called “Sunset Days”. After each episode aired, Reggie was often recognized and asked for his paw print.
When we went for vet appointments, it took several people to remove him from the car. He was well-behaved in the office and won the affection of everyone in the office with his lovely white eye lashes and beautiful spotted coat.
I looked forward to long walks on the trails here in the cool weather, but it was not meant to be. Arthritis and age took its toll. My sweet Reggie went peacefully over the Rainbow Bridge to a better place at the age of 15 1/2 while I held him in my arms. Nothing is the same without my morning doggie kisses, his nudges and smiles. Reggie will live in my heart every day till we are together again. RIP , my love. 2007-2022
